I liked Scion. I met some of the Canadian Scion executives at CIAS a few years back, and you could tell that they weren’t just business people. They were talking about the whole “scion sessions” things, and old Celicas, how it would be awesome to have an MR2 successor in the Scion lineup and all that jazz. It seemed like they actually enjoyed both cars and their job. Proof you can run a car company and have fun doing it. Plus, they handed out cool stuff at autoshows like mixtapes and yo-yos. They even offered a wide range of accessories so that you could personalize your car without voiding your warranty. And just when things were looking up sales-wise, Toyota killed it’s experiment for good. RIP Scion. You showed that economy cars don’t have to be boring. Your legacy will live on.

Now Toyota could make their own cars less boring instead. That said, I’m not sure how fat their profit margins are to fund a MR-S successor or yet another sports car project.

They can give the GT86 4WD (Which I’m pretty sure Subaru would be good with), and Toyota can rebadge it as the Celica.

Also, what happens to the iA? Will it be sold as the Yaris sedan or will Mazda take it back as the 2 sedan?
I hope the iM will be offered with a sunroof under the Toyota umbrella. And so should the Yaris and 86/FRS, which should take the Celica name.

I know people love to shit on the xA, but the manual one that I drove was entertaining enough. In the end, it wasn’t entertaining enough to buy one.
I wish that they’d have thought to bring over some funky Daihatsus and badge them as Scions, but I’m sure that federalization would have been too much to justify.

The iA was the Toyota Yaris sedan in Canada from the beginning!
